Karen's Bdae @ Indulgz

The staff there are quite friendly and all but their slow service was actually quite a put off. Bryant and Cyn were there first. Followed by Charlie, Johnny, Karen and me. Seeing ‘fresh’ customers seated at the table without glasses didn’t nudge them to bring some to us. However, we had to tell them to bring us glasses (please be specific on the number of glasses you need or they will only give you one.).

Enough about the service. We ordered baked rice, pasta, fish, oxtail, soup, salad and deep fried cheese.
Soups
Indulgz’s Lobster Bisque with Crabmeat soup. Cyn asked where’s the lobster. I managed to take a sip of the soup. It tasted very much like the broth of steamed crabs.
Chilled Peach & White Wine Soup. It tasted like mango at first. You’ll have to take a few more spoonful of it before you can taste the peaches.
Bites
Deep-Fried Camembert Cheese w Indulgz’s Mixed Berry Compote. Cheese lovers would definitely love this. But please eat it with the berry compote as the cheese can be too salty on its own.
Salads
Wolfberries & Walnut salad. Fresh vegetable, sweet wolfberries but it could be better if they added more dressing to the salad.
Entrees
Red wine Oxtail Stew. Ah Lim was pretty grumpy after eating that (he can be quite picky when it comes to food) and we all agreed that the oxtail stew he cooked tasted a lot better. Those who have tasted Ah Lim’s signature dish would agree.
Beer Battered Fish Fillet. The fish was quite fresh actually and the batter was nice and crispy. Its pretty much like fish and chips only that the batter had a more unique taste.
Pasta
Prawn & Crabmeat Pasta in Lobster Bisque Sauce. ‘Ala de Hea Mee’ was what Johnny claimed it tasted like. Ah B who had a taste of it couldn’t agree more.
Linguini Marinara. Sarah found it quite tasteless actually. I could tell from the uneven spread of sauce that it needed more of it to taste better… There was not enough sauce to cover the pasta.
Miso Chicken & Mushroom Pasta. I actually found the taste quite unique. The miso actually tasted kinda good with the pasta. Better than ‘ala de hea mee’ definitely .
Crispy Pasta with Chicken & Mushroom @ Fairyhair Pasta. Its abit like ‘san mee’ with a tangy tomato cream sauce. It wasn’t bad neither was it fantastic. But the tomato cream sauce complimented the crispy pasta.
Baked Rice
The rest of the guys ordered baked rice. All of them said that the baked rice would be more worth the money. Lobster Bisque & Seafood Baked Rice, Triple Cheese Baked Rice with Chicken & Mushrooms and Beef Bolognaise Baked Rice were being ordered.

We didn’t order any deserts as we had to make sure that there was enough space in our tummies for the birthday cake.
After dinner, we all stopped by at Can Cafe for a nice chit chat session about our wild days as teens..
